Wrapping up this short series on Convergence, I would like to examine what happens when Prayer, Purpose, and Passion converge with God into Vision. Vision can be defined as “A mental image produced by the imagination” (Dictionary.com). If vision is produced by the imagination, then spritual vision could be thought of as a God-given imagination. This is the point not only where you are executing your purpose, or where you are passionate in your purpose, but when that purpose and passion are molded into a vision that goes beyond anything you could possibly do on your own.
So, what’s your spiritual vision? You don’t have one yet? Keep seeking God and He will guide you to it:
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4 (NKJV)
For me, it is that God has given me the skills to be a software architect and also a heart to help other churches tackle their information technology (”IT”) issues. He has been growing me over these last few years by teaching me what is absolutely necessary for churches to manage themselves using a combination of process, technology, and simplicity. I pray that, as this new adventure begins, that I may lean heavily on Him for my strength, direction, and guidance.
So, as I close out this topic prior to the end of the year, I’ll be sharing more about what the Lord lays on my heart, and how He’s guiding me to this new vision that He has been growing in my heart over the last few years. Here is a preview of what will be coming in the next few months:

Guy Kawasaki put together a set of guidelines for using PowerPoint several years ago. While focused mostly toward startups doing pitches to venture capitalists, I think these rules can be used for leaders that cannot …
Often, leaders get so focused on leading their team that they can sometimes get confused on who they are competing against to recruit new volunteers or launch a new event. Don’t let yourself get confused on who you are competing against when trying to find volunteers.
