Mom’s Home and Work’s Better

Submitted by James Higginbotham on September 27, 2005 – 9:32 amNo Comment

Thanks to all of you who kept me and my family in your prayers over the last few weeks. My mom is now safely back at home and no damage, flooding, or loss of electricity. My dad, however, didn’t escape the wrath of Rita – he is out of electricity for at least 3 weeks! He at least has running water, but gas has been short there due to all of the trees blocking trucking routes.

Update: I had posted an entry around the middle of the month with the struggles I had with my last customer. I have now moved on to a new customer and things are much better now. The people I work with are nice, the work is great, and it is not nearly as stressful. Praise God for delivering me on safe, dry ground after the flood of ‘05. BTW, if you want to know what I’m doing now, it is related to writing JMX plugins for various applications so that they can be monitored by OpenNMS - a great network/monitoring tool.
