The Come and Go Leader
My neighborhood recently saw a church come and go within a matter of months. They were utilizing the community elementary school in our neighborhood and then one day, their roadside advertising signs stopped showing up. I looked them up and found out they are moving out of state due to a new “calling”. No more church. No more local meetings for those that were attending.
I know things happen. I know God can use short term circumstances for His long term purpose.
However, if you plan to come and go without leaving a legacy, then you aren’t really leading. Instead, you are using others for your own purposes, then abandoning them.
That isn’t true leadership.

Love your phrase:
“if you plan to come and go without leaving a legacy, then you arenĂ¢â‚¬â„¢t really leading.”
Leaders have a called purpose when they lead. There has to be a legacy (and hopefully a great one). Leadership takes time and we all need to remember that in the places we lead.
Thanks David – very true indeed!
