Featured Cause: WILLET – Fighting Against Poverty

Submitted by James Higginbotham on January 8, 2009 – 5:51 amNo Comment

I recently stumbled across a video from a band called WILLET. While I really enjoy their music, they are more than just a band. They are a band with a cause:

WILLET is a Rock Band out of Westminster, MD made up of brothers, Jeremy, Justin, and Jordan Willet. In February of 2007, WILLET traveled to Ethiopia, Africa with a film crew. The images of hungry children, dirty streets, and poverty will never be forgotten.

The phrase repeated throughout the trip was;

“I have the virus,” or “I don’t have the virus, praise God!”

The “VIRUS” they are speaking of is the HIV/AIDS VIRUS that is sweeping through Africa, killing thousands of children each day.

View their video, which features their song titled Streetlights, along with some of the children they sponsor:

Finally, consider joining in the fight at Food for the Hungry.
