Andy Andrews

  • read 200 biographies, found the commonality, wrote a book on 7 principles he found
  • always be grateful, even in the worst time there can be hope
  • smile while you talk
  • expect great things from yourself and others
  • because everything you do impacts others (butterfly effect)

John C. Maxwell

  • the best leaders are listeners
  • leaders listen, learn, then lead
  • when we listen, problems that could be big probably aren’t
  • the successful leader puts the right people in the right place
  • the successful person puts himself in the right place
  • “don’t send your ducks to eagle school”
  • 1) they will get frustrated
  • 2) the eagles get frustrated
  • 3) you will frustrate yourself
  • if you are in the wrong position, you won’t be successful
  • don’t manage your time, manage your life
