Give a Vision

Submitted by James Higginbotham on December 12, 2006 – 6:52 pmNo Comment

Have you ever been guilted into serving at your church? Do you know of an instance of a guilted volunteer that turned into a healthy, long lasting volunteer at your church? I don’t. So, why is the primary tactic to guilt church members to volunteer?

Jesus removes the guilt by removing our sin. So why do we then try to heap it back on volunteers? People give of their free time to vision, not guilt. If you don’t have a strong enough vision, guilt won’t help. Give a vision instead.
