As we examine the role of unity and diversity in your leadership, we start to see a pattern emerge. This is a God-given pattern that encourages a dependence upon one another through relationships with our volunteers and leaders in the church. These relationships are for the purpose of building and maintaining unity within the local church.

God has placed and will continue to place each person in your local church. This is a fact we often forget as we go through our day-to-day activities. These people are far more important than buildings, budgets, programs, methods, staff positions, size, or anything else. Each person in your church creates a total vision for where your church is currently being called to serve.

To understand how God is talking to each person, we must spend time:

We must spend time growing relationships with one another on a consistent basis.

We must spend time sharing what God is doing in one another’s life.

We must spend time unifying the local body into a single vision that God is directing through each person’s diversity.

Every person is essential. Not just the people you know. Not just the people you like to hang around. Not just the people that seem “normal” or dress the way you do. Everyone. This is God’s design for the church.

Are you willing to let God use the diversity He has placed in your team and in your church to realize His vision for your church, or are you going to get in the way?
