The plea was for local churches to provide for the Friday lunches at the Day Center, saving it about $4000 a year. We eventually got to where we serve Friday lunch once a month. The clients at the center look forward to the first Friday, when we will appear with our lunches. Not long after we started our monthly lunches, five of the clients from the Day Center began serving as volunteers at our church's weekly Loaves and Fishes lunch. They are our most faithful volunteers.
