Discipleship Is a Model, Not a Method

Submitted by James Higginbotham on March 23, 2010 – 4:56 amNo Comment

Jesus modeled discipleship for us. As He modeled it, He didn’t create a program for everyone to follow. He didn’t create a system with 10 steps and a graduation. Instead, He demonstrated a model.

He helped His disciples to understand and relate to God in a personal way.

He helped His disciples to understand the warfare we must deal with on a daily basis.

He helped His disciples to understand that God calls and we obey.

He helped His disciples to understand that sometimes we fall, but He is always there to forgive and redeem us.

He helped His disciples to understand that we all need to create disciples.

Is this how you are modeling discipleship with your team and your church?
