Start Where You Are: Your Prayer

Submitted by James Higginbotham on June 23, 2009 – 5:30 amNo Comment

Do you spend more time praying for your team today, or what you want tomorrow? Your prayer life often determines your heart, so it is a good idea to check yourself and your prayer life as you lead.

As a team leader, you should be a prayer warrior for your team. Even if you only have one other volunteer, you should be spending time praying for that volunteer.

Your prayer time must go beyond the immediate needs of your team. Pray for your team as individuals and their personal needs. Pray for your team to be difference makers within the church. Pray for your team to positively impact your community. Pray for wisdom to make effective use of your team’s time. Pray for your staff. Pray for other churches in the area that may be doing the same things your team does.

Let God shape your heart through this prayer. Let Him prepare your heart before you prepare your team. Only then will your heart be prepared for your team’s next steps.
