How to Get Started Leading For Your Cause

Submitted by James Higginbotham on November 17, 2008 – 5:06 amNo Comment

You have a cause to fight for. You have one or more Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs) identified that will help support the cause. How do you get started?

There are a few key steps when starting to lead your cause:

  1. Accept that leadership isn’t about being alone
  2. You need to recruit others to your cause
  3. To recruit others, you need a powerful vision and stories to tell
  4. This vision must paint a mental picture of the future for others to grasp quickly and easily
  5. You must cast this vision toward others that seem interested in adopting your cause

This week, we’ll dig into more details about this process.
