Ministry Beginnings

Submitted by James Higginbotham on September 3, 2008 – 5:26 amNo Comment

There is something beautiful about beginnings. It creates excitement, anticipation, and an energy that can’t be matched. When was the last time you embarked on something new? How did you feel?

Think about these beginnings and how you felt during each one:

  1. Beginning a Bible reading program
  2. A new year
  3. A new job
  4. A new house
  5. A new church service

Are you and your team tired or battling with a status quo ministry? Why not create a new beginning for them? God created days to be a new beginning for every one of us.

So, why is it that we don’t create beginnings within our church ministry often? I think we all get used to doing things the same way. We like routine. Routine is a good thing, but it also needs a wake-up call once in a while.

Create a new team or project to drive your ministry. It may require you to leave behind something of the ministry you do today to make room for something new. Once you’ve started something new, the excitement that is created will wake them (and you) up to a fresh start!
