Ask Them Questions

Another way to honor your volunteers is to ask for their input. When was the last time, as a leader, that you asked for their input about the team? Here are some ideas on what kinds of input to ask:
- Are you getting the training you need from us?
- Are we honoring your time commitments?
- Do you feel part of the team?
- What would you do to improve the team?
- Is there something we aren’t doing that we should be?
- Is there something we are doing that we shouldn’t be?
- Are we meeting your spiritual needs?
As a leader, we must fight the urge to carry the burden of the team ourselves, in isolation. Instead, seek your team’s input – they may have some amazing ideas that you have never considered!
