Ask Them Questions

Another way to honor your volunteers is to ask for their input. When was the last time, as a leader, that you asked for their input about the team? Here are some ideas on what kinds of input to ask:

  1. Are you getting the training you need from us?
  2. Are we honoring your time commitments?
  3. Do you feel part of the team?
  4. What would you do to improve the team?
  5. Is there something we aren’t doing that we should be?
  6. Is there something we are doing that we shouldn’t be?
  7. Are we meeting your spiritual needs?

As a leader, we must fight the urge to carry the burden of the team ourselves, in isolation. Instead, seek your team’s input – they may have some amazing ideas that you have never considered!

Is there something you have asked from your team that is missing from the list? Let us know in the comments!
