Summer Slowdown or Summer Strategy?

Church Marketing Sucks has a great reminder for church marketers to take advantage of the slower summer demands at church to focus some efforts on outreach:

Well, it seems tons of churches just kind of chill out over the summer, enjoying the smaller crowds and lighter workload. Maybe they listen to an edited Jimmy Buffett CD and drink a virgin pina colada, who knows?

I’m going to ask the same thing for staff and lay leaders – do you have anything planned to prep your volunteer teams prior to the busy fall/spring schedule? If so, share it and let other leaders know how your church utilizes the summer slowdown?
